roobarbpie
Has anyone got a good recommendation of who to get to do some maintainance on my woodburning stove. I've just moved into a house that has one and it looks a bit unloved. It needs the chimney sweeping and a few bits resealed. I also want to get it checked for carbon monoxide. I've found plenty of places willing to fit me a new one at great expense but no-one to service this one. Any suggestions?
Bilge
Look in the phone book for chimney sweeps - they can do all the safety checking etc, they often do chimney/fire maintenance too and can advise if there are serious problems.
Strix
If you can find the manufacturer's name plate on it you should be able to ask them for a contact in the area
Bad_Hair_Day
Hi, we used Bordersweep - he does chimney sweeping and stove fitting and cleaned our stove up for us. Seemed to do a good job and it's been lovely and toastie ever since! His number is 2299813 cheers
