willman
i was fortunate to test drive the new Lexus 4x4 hybrid last night. 40k perhaps but if this is the future of 4x4 then bring it on. the electric 3.5l engine was quiter than Grannies electric scooter. see here for review.http://www.motoring.co.za/index.php?fArticleId=2548921 the one we tried had swivelling headlights and allsorts, it was definitely the dog bollo.... economy is excellent, it is more eco frinedly than other saloon hybrids. can't wait for the cheaper verison to be brought out, the what will Mr Liivngstone and the rest have to harp on about. willman
What on earth would you want one of those for, living in the S20 area? i don't live in s20, and as i already own 2 4x4's - any way to save money and the help the environment is at the top of my agenda. and if it upsets the eco lobby and environment argument of 4x4 haters then even better. Johnh
Me thinks this is leading down the 4x4 thread again. How long before DaBouncer gets involved?
willman
Me thinks this is leading down the 4x4 thread again. How long before DaBouncer gets involved? it wasn't intended too, but perhaps it may enlighten us further as to how many people actually do only dislike the "driver" of these vehicles. 'cos personally this car is more eco friendly than most standard cars on the road, so any environmental arguments could now become void. a 4x4 thats cheaper to run than a vectra and better for the environment than a toyota corolla. However, full life cycle costs and environmental impacts of many cars - including so-called eco-friendly models, can turn out to be worse than gas-guzzlers. The environmental cost of manufacture and the materials used, then disposal afterwards, can outweigh the 'green' benefits during use. The Jeep Cherokee has been shown to be one of the greenest things on the road in terms of full impact from cradle to grave.
Solomon1
in a collision....you're at an advantage. therefore, 4x4s make driving dangerous for other road users. especially with the poor handling that women have of them and the gung-ho way that men drive them.
