tabc
Hi there, Looking at moving to Meersbrook/Heeley way and was hoping I could get some advice on Northcote Ave. Looks like a really nice road, but it's kind of close to Heeley Shops. In my experience shops tend to be a magnet for the local youth congregation which can at times spell asb. That's why I'm trying to find out more! Anybody any experience of living on the road? Northcote Ave seems lovely - just hoping it's not car break-in central! Cheers T
buckstoyorks
Hi, I live close to Northcote and as far as I know (and from what residents tell me) it's a quiet and pleasant place to live. The shops don't seem to attract huge amounts of problems ( I wander up there in the evenings to use the cash point and have never had any problems). Yes there are "youths" in the area, and there were problems a couple of years back around Meersbrook Park, however, these seem to have been sorted out now and many of the trouble makers weren't even local. The Heeley/Meersbrook area is a good place to live, great community spirit, but welcoming to people moving in. I've been here 5 years now and don't intend to move for a while! cha00kaw
I'm currently on Northcote and have seen no problems with kids. The only thing we do get at the Cat Lane end is occasional groups of kids heading into the woods during the summer, even then they are just passing through though.
