jacq
Have received a phone call today saying that as I had done a survey in town last week and my name had been drawn out of a hat I had won a holiday with e-bookers. They want me to go to Leeds to collect my brochures. I asked why they couldn't send them, no good answer. Whilst I am extremely suspicious and realise you never get something for nothing I would kick myself if if I lost a holiday. Having searched the forum I see that Draggletail was asking the very same question a few months ago. What happened Draggletail? And does anybody else have any better ideas? Is it just timeshare? E-bookers seem legit.
Vulcan B2
If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. I never respond to these types of calls - I give them my standard reply, "If I've won a holiday, send me the tickets through the post" Never had any tickets! RiffRaff
Suspect you'll probably end up sitting through a 5 hour time-share presentation....
willdervish
In 6th form last year, by some extraordinary coincidence, at least ten people in my year 'won' one of these holidays. Turns out that yes, it is just a scam by a company trying to rope you into investing in their time-shares. Sorry to disappoint you.
bluesandtwos
sounds like a timeshare scam to me. if you wanted to go and sit through a lengthy timeshare hard sell, you can insist on your free holiday, but dont hold your breath.
littleboo
its a scam, i got the same thing last week
yorkiepudd
I got one some time ago that said I had won a prize following a survey. Well, I knew I had not been to town, let alone done any survey and it was a scam to get you signed up at a health club!!!!
foxycoxy
I know this bunch, and the same thing happened to me. what happens is you go Leeds and get the brochures/tickets and yes, you do get a free holiday. Although when you go on the holiday - you are constantly harrased to go to meetings/presentations for timeshares/property development. My friend does this sort of thing all the time and she just unplugs the phone in the apartment when she gets there and doesn't go to any meetings. She gets lots of free stuff this way. So if you can put up with dodging people who want to sell stuff to you - then it is a free holiday!! Couldn't be bothered with it TBH, never picked my tickets up - and still they are calling me at work - 6 months down the line.
CHAIRBOY
This dilemma has been discussed before. Is there such a thing as a "free lunch"? Give it a wide berth and don't touch it.
