Australia / NZ Working Holiday Visas

Hi, I'm interested in both of the above visas, and I understand that they are valid for a year in Australia. Does the year start when I send the form off, or can I choose a date in the future when I want it to start. Because It would seem a better idea to get it sorted sooner, but I want the whole 12 months validity. Thanks

Here you go (Australian rules):

 

For first Working Holiday visa applications, working holiday makers must enter Australia within 12 months from the date of visa grant and are permitted a stay of 12 months from date of initial entry to Australia regardless of whether or not they spend the whole period in Australia.

Thanks. I already knew about that bit Dick Dastardly - thanks anyway though. What I meant to ask is: If I apply now, can I ask for the visa to start its 12 month validity on a specific date such as June 1st next year.

As the Dastardly one said, it will be valid for 12 months after you enter the country, if you don't enter Australia within 12 months it will be void..

 

If you don't need the visa in the next 12 months apply at a later date

so does it have an expiry date as such, before i enter OZ. So, could I apply now and then go to OZ next March and it wouldnt run out next Nov cos its simply from the date you enter, not from when they send me the visa

If you applied now, you have 12 months to activate it as such, then as soon as you enter the country its valid for 12 months
