lizzmobile
Gottin himmel It's something like Froehlich Geburtstag. Why don't you ask the parent to whom she is related? Or don't they know...

Or don't they know... That is my mum but she was only born in germany. They travelled in the army so my mum hardly ever spoke the language and having been in england for 30 years now she hardly remembers! Is 'Froehlich Geburtstag' definate lizz? artisan
Arbeit mach Frei is the one that springs to mind, I think it was a traditional german greeting in the late 30's
lizzmobile
That means 'work makes you free' artisan, not really one for a jolly card for grandma! I'd put that, froehlich means happy, and Geburtstag means birthday, and I'm pretty sure it's right. Even if there is a wee error, she'll know you've made your best effort. Night night!
