GeEzA
After several remarks about the doorstaff at the forum i feel as a frequent visiter to the bar i should say that in my 4 years of drinking in the city centre i have never seen more professional doorstaff any where else.I do belive all 4 doorstaff are trained to SIA standards and registered with the awarding body too. I am a big fan of the comman ground nite held at the forum on every friday nite and have unfortunately witnessed over the past months many unruly individuals behaving unacceptably and trying to ruin the nite for all others but have never seen the door staff assault anyone always escorting them out with minimal force. My favourite Bouncer is the short asain male he never seems to raise his voice or lose his temper no matter how much people try and test his patience. When ever i see him he has so many nice women around him i am so jealous ha ha good luck to him.I once saw a 6ft 3inch tall male refuse to leave and throw his drink over the asain bouncer and if it was me i would have punched him but the bouncer professionally escorted him out to the front door without throwing a single punch. So i find it hard to believe this same bouncer elbowed a memer of the public without no reason.People out there make your own minds up visit the bar and meet the bouncers they are very friendly and welcoming. D2J
Do you work at Forum,or just a mate of the bounces? You reckon? Funny that they know exactly how many doorstaff work at the Forum I mean I do it all the time when I go out drinking, the first thing I do is count how many doorstaff the venue has
NeoGen
Also if you had read the original post it states that the bouncer was white and not Asian. So the nice bouncer you keep harping on about is not mentioned.
7hills
i think the OP has a thing for this bouncer, as they state their favourite bouncer is the asian one! haha ive never heard of anyone having a "favourite" bouncer before? But by all means the forum may have some good door staff, but this doesn't mean they are all angels. Ive seen unreasonable force from the bouncers at the forum and many other places round sheffield, most are professional most of the time, but they do make mistakes, and very stupid ones at that. Ha Ha - that's funny! Bouncers do what they do because they enjoy violence and are ultimately thugs paid to keep people like themselves out. dj4321
Ha Ha - that's funny! Bouncers do what they do because they enjoy violence and are ultimately thugs paid to keep people like themselves out. thats the biggest load of balls i have heard. fair enough there maybe a minority of doormen that like to be hooligans but the majority are very professional in there job. on everyday scenario's the bouncer has to escort people that are out of there heads on alcohol and violent. Also it is the verbal abuse they get which is uncalled for, just because the person is drunk. In Sheffield I would say that I think the doorstaff or too soft, maybe you should go out to places like Barnsley and Chesterfield and see how doorteams operate there, cos they take no crap whatsover. As for the Forum door staff, i have nothing but praise for them. I personally think they need to get tougher because they are letting in too many drunken townies in there as the reputation of the forum being one of sheffields coolest bars has gone down hill. They are too hard now !! Doormen are not there to dish out the law, they are there to deter trouble. I agree that there are a number of very good doormen in Sheffield, and I don't think any one would argue with that. The problem is with the ones that think they need to hand out slaps to every person that has had a bit too much pop. They have no powers and are not entitled to slap, punch, elbow, bite or indeed assault any person in whatever manner without being subject to the same penalties that any other person would face. IF this is correct!! why are bouncers off there heads when working and always up for fights!! surely if these people are in charge of looking after our safety why aren't they drug tested!! if this was brought in 7/10 would FAIL and should have there badges removed! i no some deal / take drugs who work in LARGE venues
