evildrneil
Booked to view a house midweek and there is a problem witht he keys so the estate agents nicely phone me to re-arrange for 10.30 on Sunday. Not an ideal time but I can make it. Turn up today along with 12 other people and is there any sign of the estate agents - of course not! Do they phone to tell anyone there is a problem or (god forbid) have an available contact number - of course not. Aren't these people supposed to be professionals I'm thinking of drawing up a league table of estate agents who do this - so far Halifax is in the lead with Winkworth now coming in second
foxycoxy
When we were looking for a house - we had lots of problems with viewings with both Winkworths and Halifax. When we decided to sell my house - we showed people round ourselves to avoid that sort of thing. As a result of our (and other friends experiences with WInkworths - we now have a nother name for them - we replace the "I" withb another letter:hihi:
babychickens
reeds rains have done it to me, and archers (although it was the vendor's fault with archers, not their own fault. i got hte creeping phone call the next day asking me for feedback, then begging me to try again. we didn't bother). feargal
Evildrneil, you may add SPS to your list for giving me (lone female) the keys to do an evening viewing on an empty house in the middle of winter - dodgy, but fair enough I suppose - I did ask. What the estate agent didn't mention was that the house had no electricity and therefore no lights. This wouldn't have been quite so bad if they had also warned me about the lack of floorboards bang inside the front door, and the potential 4ft drop straight into the cellar! Once I had leapt nimbly over that obstacle, and navigating only by the faint light of a streetlamp, I noticed that quite a few of the stair treads were missing, or thoughtfully covered by sheets of cardboard. bobz
Put Blundells on the list. Never seen such bad customer service - try going in their office and seeing the faces their staff pull when they are pretending to be nice on the phone! Yes i noticed this too, they have the rolling eyes down to a tee when on the phone, made me quite mad and i didn't bother using them again! rubydazzler
another vote for Wnkworths here. They are terrible in my experience. Does it depend on which Winkworths though? I have a feeling they're independent franchisees, in other words, it's down to the individual manager?

Ginger_Kitty
We had an opposite problem with blundells; we'd arranged a viewing on a house, but two days beforehand we'd had an offer accepted on another, the moment we did that we called Blundells to cancel the appointment. No-one was answering their phones so we left a message on the answer machine (this was in the middle of the day on a friday!) Anyway, at the time we were originally meant to have the viewing we got a stroppy phonecall from blundells because we weren't there! 'We should have told them'... 'wasted their time'... etc etc etc... stoooopid people!!!
