Freebird
There's A Home Brew Shop On Holme Lane (Hillsborough). They Also Sell Home Brew Equipment In Wilkinson's In The City Centre (Or They Did The Last I Was There).

But I have done it so many times I suggest you use the search facility, because I don't want to repeat myself again. Brewmart hasn't closed down, it is still open at Abbey Lane and Hillsborough
willdervish
Just out of interest, do you need a license for home brewing in the UK? 'Cause I know you do in some places but not others.

No you don't you can make beer wine, and some higher alcohol drinks, as long as you don't use a still, that is illegal. Although they sell a still ( for distilling water! ) at Brewmart. Nudge nudge! Freebird
If You're Making Lager,Be Sure To Put Your Water Through A Water Filter First. The Chlorine In The Water Supply Can Affect The Taste If You Don't.

I have never needed to do that myself. And I have made several barrels of excellent Lager. Chlorine evaporates completely after 24 hours. So I don't see how any of it would be left in the brew by the time that the firmentation is well underway.

I Think Sometimes It Depends On The Quality Of The Water In Your Area.I Made Quite A Few Batches Of TCP'y Tasting Lager,Before Someone Told Me To Put It Through A Water Filter First-(Something To Do With The Chlorine In The Water). The Batches After That Were A Lot Better. I Know My Sister's Always Complaining About The Taste Of The Water Over At Her End Of Town. Either Way-Don't Think It'll Do Much Harm.
