Toshiba USB Stick Error message

I wonder if anyone can help me with a slight problem that I have got.I used a memory stick to transfer some music files from a colleague's computer to my own.I transfered about twenty albums. They went on my computer correctly but my problems came when I began to delete them from the memory stick.

All but three deleted ok.When I try to delete these a two error messages appear.

These read as

The file "folder" is a system file.

If you remove it your computer or one of your programs may no longer work correctly. Are you sure you want to delete it.

A second message then appears with the word "desktop" in the place of "folder"

Any ideas of where I have gone wrong or an alternative method of clearing the stick.

Thanks
