artisan
What possesses a man to be like this. he has just tried to attack Stormont, armed to the teeth, and carrying bombs. A few years ago he single handedly attacked an IRA funeral and opened fire on the mourners. Yet we keep releasing him as a POW. His hatred must run very deep. Apprently he was regarded as a nutter even before the attack on Milltown cemetary and other paramilitaries kept their distance from him because he was the loosest of loose cannons. After Milltown, he was regarded as a hero by many of them and they did want to know him. They were right the first time - he's clearly unhinged. artisan
Being brought up listening to anti-Catholic rhetoric from the holier than thou Ian Paisley and his ilk. Can you remember Ian Paisley as a younger man in the late sixties? He was the most aggressive bully I can remember, for a man of the cloth. I have never seen him in the flesh, but even on TV his intimidating attitude came across. He is an old man now, and younger people may not be able to think of him in that nature. It is the same as some on here seem to see a lot of the old ogres through rose coloured spectacles.
Jabberwocky
From the little we see of Paisley it would appear that he wishes a return to "The good old days", he certainly wont give an inch will he? Its as if hes deliberately trying to cause trouble. Once again, its all down to religion. Will we ever learn?

Some of the Republicans soon to be in 'government' with Paisley, notably Adams and McGuinness, undoubtedly have a lot of blood on their hands (and also undoubtedly killed people themselves). Whereas Paisley is innocent because he just stirred up other people to do the killing whilst reaping the political rewards of the ensuing mayhem. That man would be like a headless chicken if there was peace in Northern Ireland, and well he knows it.
Bartfarst
Northern Ireland is a remarkable problem - it's very hard to understand unless you've spent time there.
