Does anyone or has anyone ever lived on the Littledale estate? I was born there in 1953.

What you wouldn't know is that the houses and roads were built on the the same strip field pattern of the 13th century farmers, the planners simply copied it to lay out the roads.

Don't recall the name Cheesemans. We left Pearce Road late 50's. Still had connections with Darnall till a fewyears ago. Went to Darnall Congs and have many happy memories there.

I lived in Dawlands Close, in the early 50's I guess. My eldest brother and I, and sometimes my Dad(!) played for Littledale cricket club on what was then open ground on POW Rd. During the Winter we played football there.

Well, I've just learned something new. I've always lived in Sheffield, (50+ years) but I'd never heard of Littledale. I'd recently seen a No 6 bus going to Littledale, and so checked the route to find out where it went and where Littledale was. As I'd never heard of it I thought it might have been a recently made up name. I was posting on here to ask if it was a new name, when up popped this long lost thread.

I never lived on the Littledale but had quite a few friends that did in the very late 60s and early 70s brian (CODDY) caldwell, john ( FIDS) fiddler, graham mason, (BODS) bodington plus a lot more who all worked at Firth browns on Carlisle st and played football for both Littledale jnrs and Firth Browns I played on one or two occasions as a guest player anyone who remembers the Littledale pitch will remember it was vital to win the toss so you could play down hill in the second half the pitch was a gradient of 1 in 10 a goalie with a good kick would get on the score sheet quite easily if anyone out there know's of Coddys whereabouts please get back to me we were quite big mates back then.
