Should I let my 10 year old son have a MSN account???

Scrolling about halfway down the page there's a section on parental controls in MSN messenger. Combine that with the earlier post about keeping kids safe on MSN and you should be fine.

However, keep him on a tight leash! Make sure he only has friends on his friends list and doesn't add anyone new without your permission.

He's only 10 years old - he needs to earn his freedom! lol

I don't see why not.

But I'd limit his usage on it to a few hours a week, and only after he's done his schoolwork etc.. Could be an incentive for him.

V. good point!!!!

I can use it like I do the playstation, impliment a ban if he pushes the boundries..

as far as phones go I agree anyone can phone him up but the plus side to MSN is that it's free to chat.. sticking with the phone thang for a second, should we be letting them have phones so young????I must admit I would feel much better if i thought I could contact him however I would worry about bigger lads trying to nick it off him.
