Tuppie
Hi. Try some of the family history message forums. http://www.sheffieldfhs.org.uk/ http://sheff-indexers.thewholeshebang.org/index.html http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/ENG-SHEFFIELD/ There are subscribers on these who are Sheffield based and willing to do look-ups at the archives and hold resources relating to Sheffield. They also have a wealth of knowledge regarding family history research. Regards Tuppie

PatP
I am new to the forum and just found an old thread for the Unwin family from Kipper55. The last posting was 2009. Has anyone kept in touch with Kipper as I would love to know if he has any photos of where Henry Unwin and his wife Hannah and family lived. Is anyone else researching this family? The house they lived in was called Broom Cross and the lodge houses belonging to it were 20 and 22 Tree Root Walk. Henry and his family were living at Broom Cross in the 1851,1861 and 1871 census. Henry was 50 in 1861 I am not related to the Unwins, my interest is where they lived. My Grandparents home was 22 Tree Root Walk from the late 1930's to early 1960's. I enjoyed many happy holidays there as a child but unfortunately we are short of photographs. Can anyone help? I have found photos in last few days of aerial photos taken to the demolition of the area but none show Broom Cross or the cottages. Has anyone got photos of this area in their family albums? The address of Tree Root Walk is still used for the hospitals that now occupy the land. PatP
