I use Winamp it's free and does MP3 encoding/ripping, and is one of the best music players on the net IMO, if not THE best (it certainly supports more stuff than WMP, if only I could get it to play my legally aquired MPEG videos :( )

Just download Media Player 11 from Microsoft. It's got the ripper built in now.

there is a little program called switch mp3 converter and it also converts to other formats you can find it on the net for free and its legal and has no spyware in it.

Didnt know it had become freeware, I used to use this a lot. Will download a selection of the above and pass to my mate.

Where can I get lame.exe? I only have lame_enc.dll on my system.
