scarby
Howdo. Like the title says, I open task manager, and select MSN Messenger to not run on start up, alas, it does! Anyone got any bright ideas? And also, when it is running, it sometimes seems to be slow at recieving and sending instant messages to people. Should I downgrade to MSN 7.5 from Windows Live or what? Strix
There's a setting in MSN itself to boot on startup - you'll need to find this and un-tick it Tools, options, general... No idea about the slowness though
sausagefinga
Try typing "msconfig" into the run command in the start menu and deselecting it from the startup list. I think only some versions of windows have this?

Banjo Griner
It's best to do it in Messenger's options as pointed out by Strix - doing it in msconfig only works for a while before Micro-'it's not spyware'-soft automatically re-activate it.
