anthonyh   10 #157 Posted September 30, 2006 Let me add another side to this, there seems to be a lot of people with different views, which is obvious because everyone has different standards and ideas of what makes a good place to live. I have just applied for rent of a room in the new apartments on trafalgar street. Its far more than a house would have cost me and is far smaller, i only get one bedroom and one livingroom/kitchen.  I work in the city (about 3 mins walk from my acomodation) and i am new to sheffield. Iknow nothing about the surrounding areas. This flat not only cuts down on my travel time to work (including less petrol cost) but it is also going to allow me to get used to the city and learn more about the suburbs. An estate agent is never going to bad mouth an area no matter how bad it is, i was showed a property by the mannor estate which i have heard is not a nice place, obviously it is their job to sell it.  I feel safer in the city centre than i would in a random suburb, if i want to go out i can do so without having to factor in £10 for a taxi (and the trouble of actually finding one!) City centre living for some is great, for others it wouldnt work. I personaly cant wait to move in.
 Share this content via...
