It would be better if we got rid of this useless Council who spend money on daft Questionaires, and other stuff nobody wants like a damned big load of flats, and we got a Council who were more concerned with giving the people of Sheffield value for the money they pay in Council Tax.

Seems like they are at least starting to show some care for the hard working honest people of Sheffield. The sad thing is are they going to come down tough on repeating ASBO offenders and hit them hard so that they realize that they have to conform to laws and regulations. Or are they going to spend going to be tougher with the council tax and increasing it because of this. No matter what happens we will lose out. Sheffield you need to get with the program. Sheffield could be the nicest place to live but only if you make it that way.

You should stand for election and really make a difference

i think the most noticebale statement was that by the op - about loaded questionnaires.

the council were gonna do it anyway they just needed to let you feel you participated.

if the questionnaire choice was the old phrase " eat sxxt or die" - guess what would be on the school menu as the choice of the city.

To be fair, my personal thoughts are that there are those working for the Council that would have liked to reduce our Black Bin Collection to once every fortnight.

The result of this survey may well have delayed this.

(until they run another questionaire to get the result that they want!)

lets face it, the once fortnightly bin collections are going to happen.not for recycling, but just to cut costs+save the council money (and gain revenue when the fines start).and as for the 90% who voted for more fines and (abc's)they proberly meant against the yobs, hoodies, potheads and vandals found on most estate street corners and in the town centre. and also where are all the litter bins...theres some in the town centre or near shopping areas, but none on your normal everyday street, except the odd one that is normally overflowing.yes sheffield has its problems but i dont think litter is very high on its list...not as high as saving money and gaining revenue off the hard working.(the dregs wont pay the fines)and the police and the council will only police the people they can.... the decent and the honest!. oh and sorry i didnt see the questionair, i mean the town hall window for a whole wkend and 1 website, me thinks the council didnt want a large truthful response/opinion

Why is it such a bad thing for the council to consider reducing bin collections to fortnightly instead of weekly? We are a family of 4, but our black bin is always at least half empty every week.

Maybe more people should consider taking the advice of the government minister who recently suggested that we should dump unnecessary packaging on the checkout at supermarkets? ;)
