driod1
I have bought some ECC memory and it will not work on my PC, is it possible to enable support this type of memory in the bios.
DaFoot
depends on the mainboard/chipset you are using. check the manual to see if your mainboard supports ECC memory.
Guest
Most home mobos don't support ECC memory if I remember correctly, it's usually only in servers that really need it. Can't you just send it back and say you bought the wrong stuff?

I think some top end consumer boards will support it though.
Meaks
If it doesn't support it, it doesn't support it. End of.
GraZ
ECC Memory is registered, only specific boards will support it, if it doesnt boot up with that memory then it doesnt support it. Such boards like Socket 940 had modals that had them as a pretique only, and typical memory would not work. What you got is pretty expensive too, if you can try and get it sent back but its unlikely as the warrentys is void when taken out the protective wrapper. Also check to see if your board needs dual sticks, such as putting it in slot 1 and 3 (if you have 4 slots). Not forgetting it does matter where you put the memory in, you cant mix n match ECC with normal either.
driod1
Thanks everyone for you help, I bought them from another forumer but I neglected to check whether they were none-ECC. I have put them up for sale and if they dont sell here I will put them on ebay. Thanks again.
