slimsid2000 Â Â 10 #256 Posted December 2, 2006 My view is that it should be banned in all public places both inside and out. The possible problem with only an inside ban is that the smokers will just smoke more outside and thus move the smoke from one place to another rather than get rid of it. British weather will stop the sods wanting to go outside.  Just consider the picture. You are a filthy smoker sat in a nice warn pub with your real ale but you are gagging for some filthy smoking. You have the choice of beating the crappy weak minded craving or go outside in the wind, rain, snow, hail and generally crap conditions.  And that's just in the summer
 Share this content via...
KJ_VENOM   10 #260 Posted December 2, 2006 i'm a smoker, i'm not looking forward to 1/7/7 the gorvenment wants everyone to be healthy good on 'em. so why not ban cigs and tobacco products all together? because as it been said on this thread we smokers provide £9,000,000,000 to the treasury per year in taxes which if we didnt pay EVERYONE including you none smoker would have to make up in income tax or NI contributions  i find it silly that as the powers that be, at the same time as banning smoking are relentlessly banging on that cannabis is such a big problem that instead of cracking down we should legalise or at least decriminalise it:huh:  one police officer has said that heroin uses should be GIVEN free heroin and loads of people say what a great idea  there are some indoor places where you can still legally smoke by the way  like all these laws royal palaces are exempt from the ban  so the people who have made this decision the people that you and i have voted for can still enjoy a cigarette or cigar in the nice warm inside:thumbsup:  democracy eh? innit great? Rooty   10 #261 Posted December 3, 2006 yeah, casinos non smoking too, I think the only exceptions are hotels, if I remember correctly. ash  Why would hotels be an exception?  KJVenom - As a non-smoker who welcomes this new law with open arms, i've no desire for the govenment to ban smoking, as im sure many people haven't. If anyone wants to smoke thats up to them, peoples issues usually come from being made to smoke with you by sitting in your cloud of cigrette smoke. Smoke all you like at home, i don't care! Aslong as i don't have to inhale cigrette smoke (gives me a headache and makes me feel sick) and smell like a smoker i don't care how much other people smoke. Jabberwocky   46 #263 Posted December 3, 2006 You DO realise, I hope that soon smokers will become a minority in this country, and once that happens, as is the way with the government and minorities, then smokers will be able to smoke wherever they want?
