i thought it was march next year.... someone (i forget who) has the date in their signature.

 

I'm afraid I am the one who is guilty of having the message in my signature, but I copied it from someone in another forum, I have no idea wether it is true or not, although I am looking forward to it with relish.

 

I also feel that there are many smokers who are themselves looking forward to it deep down because for some of them, those extra fags while in the pub are when they tend to do the heaviest smoking, and it will really help them to give up.

 

It is just that they don't want to admit it publicly.

Gala Bingo thinks it's June 1st. That's the date from which, they are warning everybody, all of their clubs will become smoke-free due to the new laws.

Perhaps prisons are the best place for us old puffers. At least if they take our burn away, we might well get a few thousand quid compo for the violation of our human rights?

Load of tosh - why should kids, pregnant women and old folks have to dodge the cancer-clouds when they're walking round town? Smokers have got no concern for anyone else's lungs - in fact they revel in blowing the cancerous stink in everyone's face. If people can't spark up without chuffing poisonous fog in me mush, let em turn their own wallpaper yellow with the filth.

There are loads of non-smoking pubs now, and when was the last time anyone went into a smoking restaurant ?

So, all the non-smokers don't have to stay home until the ban starts (though they probably would prefer to do then then moan about it)

Cig smoke is a thousand times less dangerous than traffic polution/industrial polution, thats killing you (and destroying the environment) without you even knowing it, at least you can avoid smokers, but I guess you know whats important

No need to be like that - I'm just saying I don't dig on strangers blowing smoke on my face in the street. I don't spit curry on them, so why do they blow smoke on me?

Yeah, it's strange that is. Every time I've seen smokers in the street,in Sheffield, they're always rushing up to people and babies in prams, blowing smoke into their faces and then running off.

 

I don't think smokers all over Britain do it. It's perhaps just Sheffield. I wonder why? Maybe some Sheffield faces look better with smoke added? Who knows? A real mystery, if ever there was one, to be sure.
