datal
Yesterday afternoon my friend was walking near Rundle Rd with our gorgeous jack/russell dog & a young woman pulled up in a posh looking Mercedes & said 'excuse me, that's one of the nicest looking dogs I've ever seen, I'll give you £1000 for it', my friend said sorry she's not for sale, the woman said 'ok £2000..... £3000...... £4000...... my friend was in shock & even though he's skint, still said no, the woman said, 'ok £6000', my friend said 'no thank you' & she drove off. I now understand why there are cases of certain dogs going missing & urge everyone to take extra care of their precious little bundles of joy. taxman
What sort of bonkers loony would buy a dog just for its looks? Talk about a fashion accessory
BobbyBunny
Probably wanted to make it into a fur coat or something, sounds like cruella de ville to me In all seriousness though, I know what you mean. Dogs are being stolen left right and center because a lot of people will do anything for a nice looking pooch.
KATIEB_23
I'm sure your dog is absolutely lovely, but £6000 for a jack russell??! This woman doesn't sound quite right to me Fair enough if you'd just won Crufts or something, but a complete stranger walking along the street?! Bonkers! datal
It just shows what disposable income some people are able to splash about these days. Even if she'd offered a million we would not have parted with our little beauty.
Strix
I'd make sure your dog is chipped and under tight control when out datal ... and don't let your dog out in the garden unsupervised either for a couple of months Did you get the car reg? or a better description of the woman? Write down any details you can think of, and if you see any 'lost' posters in the area, I'd forward this incident to the police
BobbyBunny
Good advice Strix, I never thought of that.. Someone tried to dognap my GSD a while ago. Luckily she's big enough and has enough teeth to fight an 18 stone man off who was trying to bag her in my dads back yard.. Lol. She can stand with her feet on my Dads shoulders and he's almost 6ft. BobbyBunny
I know, I think we're lucky she is a BIG girl.. She's not overweight, she's just large. Lol. She's a long haired pedigree, I think they were spying on her for a couple of weeks before they took her, but from the distance. They obviously didn't know how big she is. This is the same dog that pulled my dogs shoulder out of its socket. Lol. She's a very big lady, very powerful but lovely once she knows you. On the other hand if somebody tried to steal Bracken (whippet type thing ) they would do it - even though she's really timid if they picked her up and put her in a bag that would be it, BUT she can run like the wind. Lol. SO they'd probably never catch her. Thats also why she never goes off lead (has an extender), her recall is pants and if she ran off no one would be able to catch her she's that fast. Lol.
