Banks closing before the closing time

Recommended Posts

what is really annoying ,i don`t if is just me ,but i hate this banks that close before closing time.all the time the natwest near hunters bar is closing between 4:25 and 4:45 even the closing time is 5 pm.how fustrating!

It's not just banks either. I've noticed recently that the shops on my high street start locking their doors and pulling shutters down at around 5pm when their closing time is clearly stated as 17.30. It's very frustrating when you've made a last minute dash from work and get there at 17.10 to be told 'sorry we're closing'.

i nearly had a full on row in tj hughes a month or two ago...they announced that it was now 5.30pm, and the store was now closed. thing is, it was 5.25pm!

i wanted to try something on very quickly, and the staff told me they were closing and that i couldn't try it on. i told them it was actually 5.25, and they didn't believe me!! i've noticed this several times, and it's clearly something they do - my watch was correct.

i don't have a problem with their policy of announcing they are closing, but telling you it's 5.30 when it clearly isn't is a bit much!!

this sounds so petty, and probably is, but if they aren't open past 5.20/5,25 then why not just lock the doors and not let anyone in?!!!!!

I can't get over the fact that so many shops shut just when people are finishing work. These little shops are learning nothing from the supermarkets. No wonder they struggle.

We struggle for many other reasons than closing just when people are finishing work or 10 minutes before the stated time ...

It's not that we want the supermarkets to take all our business and then we have to close down .... it's just that it's not viable to keep a small shop open for 12 hours when you might only get a couple of customers spending £1 each outside your core hours .... much as we'd like to be obliging.

I totally agree, I close at 6pm Monday to Friday, to try to cater for people calling after work, but usually after 4.30 I am a lot quieter. Saying that though its probably due to the parking restrictions.

at least now i know,is not like the time table is in your face .quite annoying though every branch has different opening time .i was expecting to have them opened until 5 .but anyway quite interesting ,in the past it was after 4:45 i was still allowed to go in ,that s why i was thinking they are being out of order.
