King Rat
Can you remember the early 90's Raves? Everyone dancing blowing whistles wearing Snooker gloves in High Spirits? Was you one of those people? What was your experiences? Love it hate it Miss it? Do you think it's a shame that everythings now super clubs and more marketing orientated? What about the old rave tunes such as Prodigy's 'Charly' or Liquid 'Sweet harmony' etc Is there any style's like this now? Please share your stories experiences or your thoughts on the Rave Generation etc... Old Skool Raves - Discuss...................

It did wonders for my confidence. If you were 18 now & going out, I don't reckon that you could have as good a laugh in terms of nightlife. I suppose everything's different now- I wouldn't say that 'superclubs' play a very big role anymore, but rather late bars. There are some great tunes from back then as there are now. Too many to mention. I'm glad I've been there & done that though, as I feel too old & knackered to go beyond 10pm thesedays.
Tony
Early 90's? You obviously missed the mid / late 80's Well one or two of us still manage it when the old joints aren't playing up . But like they say - tings aint what dey used to be. The advent of money, superclubs and superstar DJ's pretty much killed it really.
SpeedwayDan
plus dance music being split up into so many different pigeon holes didn't help either. although, i also think like most popular past times, the influx of promoters who flooded in just to make money killed off alot of it. plus of course the final nail in the coffin was the criminal justice bill. you still have loads of parties though, all over the country most weekends, and the vibe is still very good

The advent of money, superclubs and superstar DJ's pretty much killed it really. It did kill it off when it became more commercial, which was probaly because of the success of the illegal raves which became superclubs and then superstar DJ's etc.. Was you into the Acid House thing in the late 80's ?

Titian
ahhh Fond memories: Being handed a slip of paper on a saturday night with a location on it. Getting in a car and drving for ages to find it only to find it's been raided before you got there. Getting arrested on a regular basis for looking the part. Coming out of the darkness on a cold wet winter morning with your hair dripping and your clothes sodden and a sudden gust of icy wind sending extreme shivers through you. Then shouting to your friends "don't touch me...I'm wet" whatever happened? We all grew up.
