chazza
Hi all, my fiance and i are moving to sheffield soon and have been looking on rightmove and the like at houses. Our budget is about 120k and we've seen a few places we like in Stannington and Gleadless Valley. We've friends in Mosborough, and we used to live in Nether Edge/Ecclesall rd area for a few years so we know the city fairly well though we're not really sure of these areas. Also, any suggestions for other area's that we could get within our budget? Many thanks, Charlotte
BlueAngel
Stannington is a lovely area I've just moved there with my boyfriend. I'm originally from Greenhill which is the other end of town.

funfamily
Like Stannington, not sure about Gleadless. If going to Stannington make sure not too near Myers Grove school, it doesn't have a great reputation. Stannington Village itself is nicer. Other villages out that way nice too:)
shefflas88
yes i agree stannington is bad near the school because you will get kids throwing rubbish in your garden and you get them throwing bricks at the bradfield school bus going up the road, at least i think that still happens, it did when i went 2 years ago. thanks
Benji 1+1
I Live at Stannington and have done for 39 years, i also don`t live that far from Myers Grove school so i`m classed as lower stannington by those that live in the village(the real stannington). yes Myers Grove has got a bit of a reputation but thankfully it`s only the minority that make it like that as it`s only the bad things that get reported. Myers Grove exam results this year were the best the school as ever had and until it lost it`s 6th form college was one of the best schools in sheffield. as with all areas there is good and bad and that does include the village. Shaun_A
Only trouble is you get less house for your money than you will get at Gleadless. It's just a more expensive place to live as it's more on th outskirts of the city. The new Middlewood estate where I have lived before probably won't have a house on it for £120 000 only flats at a push.
