Lucozade is O.K. for a temporary lift & to quench your thirst, but Complan from any chemist is best,as it is a meal in a mug, and is a meal replacement. evildrneil
How about soups and stews? Easy eating and comfort food If I'm feeling off colour I always find toast to be a good stomach settler
Bago
Crisps are oily. Maybe your stomach doesn't deal well with that after not eating regularly. Why have you not eaten on a regular basis ?
medusa
My advice on stimulating appetite is to go down the gym and burn lots and lots of calories- makes you incredibly hungry.
Strix
Soups are great for this - if you can stomach any of them how about yoghurt? french set goes down easy. those go-ahead biscuits I find I can face if nothing else - relatively tasteless, but sugary enough to give a bit of energy along with dried fruit. ice cream? plain vanilla or something else that doesn't have toffee lumps in it avoid anything fatty or greasy (like crisps ) as your stomach just won't cope with it just now
weenireeni
Crisps are oily. Maybe your stomach doesn't deal well with that after not eating regularly. Why have you not eaten on a regular basis ? ive tried eating many meals this week, but had to give up after a few mouthfuls as its come straight up, which is why ive had tangerines, the juice seems to stay down stew sounds blurgh! will try soup, ta ive got some grapes in so i'm saving them for monday as hopefully theyll stay down and give me some energy! and i know crisps were a bad idea, just thought if i tried one of my fave things i might feel better, bad move lol! the internet suggests things with ginger in to stop the nauseaa, do you think ginger biscuits would work??? i looked for travel sickness pills at asda and they had none! Bago
If you've been ill for a long time, I would recommend something more nutritional to your body to build up a regular sugar-level. Don't rely on lucozade for a long time, cos it's just sugar for simple energy. Yet, your other parts of the body needs vitamins too. I would go for something like good vegetable soups. Don't eat too much of it at once. Just enough that your stomach can take. Something with carbo will give you a steady release of energy instead of sugar rushes from lucozade. [Added] Losing 13lbs in 4 days is actually NOT good. Really. I know it's great to lose some weight and be happy withyourself, but 13lb in 4 days is too fast. Look after yourself. Try something like brown bread or something which takes longer to digest.
