gempud
I was just reading this issue of Knitting ans saw a little piece about Easy Knit which is some kind of program thing that allows you to enter your measurements for sweaters/cardis etc, tweak a few details and it writes a pattern for you. I think it's going to be on my xmas list and seeing as I'm notorious for getting things and then deciding I don't like it, I downloaded the demo and had a little play and it seems ok. I was wondering whether anyone else had used it or had heard any reviews of it?
medusa
I've never used this system, but I used to use a similar system that was written for me by a mate who was a programmer- and I used it to turn out custom intarsia jumpers for all sorts of people using a combination of that and a bit of kit that was a generic pattern on which you entered your tension and size needed and it gave you your stitches and shaping on a chart. I used both very often, and loved the fact that I didn't have to browse for a pattern that I liked.
Guest
I'm sure there's a free piece of software floating around the internet which does the same as that. I think, though, that it could just be for designing jumpers, but I can't recall offhand. I'll have a hunt and see what I can dig up.
Guest
This is what I was thinking of. The links section on that site has links to other pattern generators too.
