gpsy
Anyone that uses the Hillsborough Barracks car park to park their car and then sneak off around Hillsborough, on the tram or elsewhere may want to start finding alternative arrangements for their car. My mate works there and apparently they are looking in to who is actually using their car park, especially the top one just of Langsett Road. There are suspicions that people are parking in the barracks and then not actually using any of the shops or offices in the complex and just heading in to town or around Hillsborough while enjoying the free parking. Apparently many people have been observed using it as a park and ride service and some employees of a certain car dealership have also been spotted using it to park up and walk down to their work. It's become very obvious with the car park, especially the top one again, being rammed before 9am and the stores and offices around the car park being relatively empty in comparrison to the number of cars parked up there. Things are about to change apparently to combat this.
mowith
Whilst we are on about the top Morrisons car park @ Hillsborough - I would like to say a big "thank you" to the brave person who damaged the back of my husband's wheelchair accessible vehicle last Tuesday afternoon and drove off without leaving details. Hopefully what goes around comes around.

Its funny because we park in Morrisons car park when we shop there, and there always seems more cars, than shoppers actually walking round morrissons. It is also one of the most aggressive car parks weve encountered, with people waiting to dive in to spaces, and nearly coming to blows over this.Never thought that some people may use it for a park and ride. gpsy
It's getting to be a huge problem and one that will be seeing new messures soon. They've started taking number plate details today of all staff who park there and the rest of the cars will be monitored apparently. The unofficial free 'park and ride' service or free parking for those who park there and walk off to elsewhere may soon become very expensive for them. Cyclone
Do they currently have signs up saying that parking is for shoppers only?

RazorSHarp
Do they currently have signs up saying that parking is for shoppers only? It doesn't, but there is a big sign that reads "Morrisons'" not 'Supertram Park & Ride' It's there to benefit shoppers, not penny piching freeloaders that don't give anything back in return for their free parking
gpsy
It's getting to the stage where it's causing problems for shoppers and other users of the car park that have permission to do so, so something's being done about it.

Its about time they did. When you go at a slack time to Morrissons, and both car parks are absolutely full, and not that many shoppers in Morrissons,it makes you wonder.
