sexkitten
Barcelona is notorious for street theft so watch your belongings and don't flash the cash Hope you have a good time tho!

jofo80
Hi I lived in Barcelona for a year and still didn't see all there is to see there. It is a fab city. My hihlights would be Parc Guell - Gaudi's beautiful gardens overlooking the city, a short bus ride away in the outskirts. Sagrada Familia - Gaudi's impressive cathedral, not far from Parc Guell so could combine the two. Mont Juic - start in the Plaza Espanya, take in the Museu Nacional Art de Catalunya and the Castell de Montjuic futher up the hill is really peaceful and offers great views. MACBA - the modern Art Museum two minutes from the Ramblas/Placa Catalunya is a great building. a walk up and down the Passeig de Gracia and Rambla Catalunya you'll see alot of designer shops and impressive architecture - Casa Battlo and La Pedrera both well worth a visit. For eating I would head to the neighbourhood known as El Born right of the Barri Gotic, not as expensive as the main tourist drags and some great restaurants. A walk aroung the neighborhood Gracia is very nice. Few tourists and a very nice area, alot of arty bohemian types. That should be enogh for 3 days! jofo80
There's a first time for everything. I don't think I 've ever heard anyone say they didn't like Barcelona before. I've been several times and never ever noticed a smell. there is just so much to do and see you can't fail to enjoy it. Have a great time. (Get a bus or taxi to Parc Guell cos its all uphill from town) Oh I loved Barcelona, lived there for a year though i must admit it does stink. When you walk around the corner (10seconds from Las Ramblas) and see a prostitute having a poo behind the bins you know what sort of city you're in! It is also very dirty, the dirtiest city I have been to in europe. Great city though! I'd go back tomorrow, for good if I could! Energy, people from all over the world living together creates such a vibrant mix. Definitely the jewel of Europe Jofo
Guest Mod_Man
Tibidabo, that's all I have to say. One of the most jaw dropping views I have ever seen. Bit of a mission getting there, but really worth the effort. I didn't want to leave. It's like looking at a map of Barcelona in front of you. Have to agree with that one. Sat for ages just watching the wild cats. Barcelona is a stunning city. Loved every bit and will be going again. Try to get to the Market just Off La Ramblas, thats also where the Lady/Ladyboys hang out too.
artisan
The one and only time I went to Barcelona, me and a few shipmates were ripped off in a bar for near on £30, and surrounded by the bouncers until we paid up. £30 in the mid 70's was a lot of folding paper, so my memories of the place are not too pleasant.
