Don_Kiddick
Royal Mail postal scam. Can you circulate this around especially as Xmas is fast approaching - it has been confirmed by Royal Mail. The Trading Standards Office are making people aware of the following scam: A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a premium rate number). DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize. If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £15 for the phone call. If you do receive a card with these details, then please contact Royal Mail Fraud on 02072396655 or ICSTIS (the premium rate service regulator) at http://www.icstis.org.uk

savbaby
*sigh* I've had this emailed to me about six times already. From experience I always thought that scam warnings that insist they are genuine are a load of old cobblers? I also thought that there is a cap on premium rate numbers as to how much they can charge per minute. I smell the whiff of an urban myth chain letter! on the link i put its got a list of these, the worrying thing is that its the companies who are circulating this!! Heyesey
I also thought that there is a cap on premium rate numbers as to how much they can charge per minute. There is, and it's way below £15.
martin1print
Interesting. It's important to be on your toes regarding scams. The latest email scammers have changed tack from the lottery con and the dying of cancer con. Now they are giving away free cars that are impounded in storage containers, - all the recipient has to do is to pay the freight charge.
Greybeard
Now they are giving away free cars that are impounded in storage containers, - all the recipient has to do is to pay the freight charge. I sometimes wonder if people who swallow that kind of bait don't deserve the consequences ?
