with the k800i its not easy to make calls whilst its in your pocket is it, as with some phones they are always doing it???
You can lock it with the keylock, to date mine's never called anyone from my pocket.

thanks lalaland, but what standard memory do you get with the k800i, and does it come with good games and is it easy to txt???
64Mb onboard memory and you can expand this with the purchase of a memory card.

Gameswise, it comes with Fotoquest Fishing, Mini Golf and Tennis Mutliplay. There are plenty of others you can buy or download for it.

There are other applications included including the facewarp tool where you can morph people's faces once you taken their photo. I've also added Satnav, extra photo editing tools and an MSN messenger client to mine so far.

It's very easy to text, I find the keypad layout is good and the phone fits nicely in your hand whether texting, voice calling, video calling or using it as a camera.

I'm also debating between this phone and the samsung d900, i used to have the d500 and i really liked it, i now have the k750i which i like (apart from the joystick breaking and it kept switching itself off - but i have insurance so got it fixed luckily!).

Anyone have any advice on the d900 and the w850i? I know the k800 is good but i have a digital camera for taking photos, and its quite big (tho i dont want a dud camera on my phone...the camera on the k750 is good enough for what i use it for tho!)

Thanks,

Gemma

Im with Orange at the moment - on a student deal (even tho i havent been a student for 2 years!)

On the standard plan for £30 i get 300 mins and 1000 texts and when my mins are used half price calls to land lines. but last year when i renewed they gave me a bolt on of 200 mins and another 1000 texts (which i never ever use) for the same price...im due to upgrade in the next couple of weeks or so so am hoping they will keep me on the same and renew the bolt on's for another year as am quite happy with ornage and think its a decent deal!!

We'll see tho, def dont want to sign an 18month contract as i use my phone a lot and will need upgrading before then!!

The joystick issue was with the dust seals around it breaching and allowing crap in. It's easy enough to clean, but if you don't do so then it becomes non-responsive. On the K800i this problem is fixed.

The camera on the K750i is better than that on the D900 and on the W850i. Remeber, don't judge cameras on the megapixel rating alone.

The W850i, being aimed more at the walkman users, has less features on the camera and one of them that was removed is the auto focus. The quality is still good, but the K750i produces much better pictures and the K800i produces better pictures still.

The 750, 800 and 850 will all play music, but the 850 is more aimed at this, so if you want a phone with emphasis on playing MP3s then the 850 is the one you want. If you are more interested in photos and videos then the 750 or 800 are the ones, with 800 over 750.

DONT get the 800i, it has the same joystick as the w800i and the 750 and they screw up, get the 810i if you don't go for the 850.

I have the same problem, I am not sure which to go for, the 810i or the 850i

The trauma!

The 800i appears from the outside to have the same joystick, but it is improved from the K750i. My K750i had the same issues as you describe, but my K800i doesn't suffer from it at all, the joystick is totally functional after a few months of using it and has never let me down at all.

The 800i doesn't seem to screw up either, early models had a few slight issues, but return them to the shop and you get a later model which doesn't screw up. I saw this with my mates phone, although mine's running fine without issue.

Between the 850 and the 800 it comes down to 1 choice mainly, are you wanting to use it as a phone and MP3 player or a phone and camera? If music, go for 850, if camera go for 800. Which ever is more important to you should help you decide as they both play music and both have cameras, but the camera on the 800i is a hell of a lot better than the 850 and the music player on the 850i is a little more aimed at being an MP3 player.

So noone would go for the samsung?!
The samsung isn't a bad phone, but it's not a patch on the SE handsets. Go in to a phone shop and have a play with any handsets you are interested in, the staff will be happy to let you do so, have a look at the menus and features and make sure it suits you.

I'm torn, maybe i go for the cybershot its just so bulky and now everyone seems to have it but guess the was the same with the 750i!
It's actually not that bulky, going from my old K750i to the K800i it felt bigger (which it was), but now it feels fine. It's a decent size and comfy shape. Everyone getting or having them just shows it's a decent handset, it doesn't bother me that others have it, it's more people to video chat with anyway as more people have a 3G capable phone :D (especially as I'm on O2 and they include video calls in my 1,000 any network any time minutes)

Hello

I had this phone.. and had to send it back!

The touch pad is coated in plastic.. and you have to press it to scroll up & down etc..

Well.. this developed a crack, I think it was weak plastic. Vodafone accused me of damaging it.. but theres no way it was.

I have sent it back to them anyway.

Good luck!
