Car oil & filter change

Get a Haynes manual and do it yourself, changing oil and filters is one of the easiest jobs. You can do it yourself for £35 tops or go to a garage and pay £60. Haynes manuals are brilliant step by step instructions written in leyman terms no jargon.

There are a few pre requisits. You need a socket set (as the last bugger will have over tightened it). You need a jack (usually) in addition to the cars included side jack or an axle stand. You need some flat ground = no terraced house on a hill residents - you could move the car elsewhere but you then have to take cleaning products with you and its a pain. You need a large 4l+ capacity tray to kill with collected oil. You need an old empty oil can to put that oil into.

And when you are a n00b and have spilt the oil everywhere you need to have some stuff to clean it up with.
