DaFoot
It is my friend ask your local vicar he might cough a bit at the question. Or better still look it up on the net. Do you think I made it up ? I'm not saying you made it up...but equally you could do some reading yourself. There are a number of possible reasons it is used, one is explained on the current wikipedia page here. It was used by pagans, maybe. Is it not also possible other groups adopted the symbol independantly? Apologies if this sounds a bit ranty, I get a bit frustrated by so many people who dismiss Christianity as a viable religion looking for reasons their [Christian] symbols etc must have been hijacked. Christ mass We know perfectly well that's where the WORD comes from. What you have chosen to ignore is that the word was invented as a name for a pre-existing, Pagan festival, in order to pretend it was a Christian festival. Rich
It doesn't matter a gnat's naughty bits if a corporate like the post Office decides to have non-religious theming of it's Christmas offerings. What matters is whether people celebrate Christmas themselves. I don't expect to wait for permission from the High Street, the Post Office and the Government to celebrate Christmas in my own way, which does feature religion. Well said Joe.. It's only the PC Brigade that want to ban Christmas anyway and they're retarded and know sod all about owt.
