Ms Macbeth
The Royal Mail Christmas stamps have been religion-free on several previous occasions. The theme was 'robins' a few years ago, as I recall. Most people are likely to have a Chistmas tree and holly in their home over the festive season, rather than a nativity scene, just as most people don't go to church over Christmas. Quite. Last year we had various madonnas if I recall? Next year the stamps will feature ToysRus, Argos and selected supermarkets. People are far more likely to spend time in any of them than in church, especially over Christmas.
dj4321
Famous but ordinary. Though tongue seems to be straying to the denial of Christ. Even the thieves on the cross soon wised up. I do believe in good and evil, so denounce the lord at your peril.
pussycat
When will Christmas be cancelled? Soon I hope! Couldn't agree more. I have no problem with other people celebrating it as long as they don't expect me to join in, but I just wish it was easier to opt out for us bah humbuggers. I'm already finding tv adverts and shops offensively Xmassy. Grrrrrrr........ This year we can't have our work's do on the Winter Solstice like I arranged last year, so that me and the other non-Xmassy person could pretend we were all out to celebrate that. shuwarrior51
I dont know what ****** me off more at Christmas: i) The Department stores thrusting there christmas ****e down our throats half way through september OR ii) The Christian God squad trying to kid themselves and make everyone believe its about THEIR "lord"... as someone has already said....."bring on the solstice!" BobbyBunny
Though tongue seems to be straying to the denial of Christ. Even the thieves on the cross soon wised up. I do believe in good and evil, so denounce the lord at your peril. The Lord? Erm... yes. Seeing is believing. And I have seen no evidence of any 'Lord' ever. I believe in good and evil too. But that's it. There's good, and there's evil. Where some 'Lord' comes into that I have no clue. Yes, my peril, not yours. I don't believe in God, and neither do a lot of people, so I will peril if I wish to with no affect on you or any other believers in god. If I was a Christian I'd be a walking contradiction anyway. But that's another story.

DaFoot
can anyone shed some light cos I'm feeling a bit thick? How can christmas be religion-free?? I would say for the majority of people who enjoy Chritmas it is religion free. Nothing religous about santa, presents, getting fat which (practically) all non-Christians do.
