jessbarnard
It doesn't matter a gnat's naughty bits if a corporate like the post Office decides to have non-religious theming of it's Christmas offerings. What matters is whether people celebrate Christmas themselves. I don't expect to wait for permission from the High Street, the Post Office and the Government to celebrate Christmas in my own way, which does feature religion. my point was that in my eyes and many other peoples it WAS always about the nativity and the religion side of it. Its the only time I di go to church and this whole anti - religion and anti social side of things is really spiralling out of control!! Its just following on from the Fiona Bruce episode
BobbyBunny
I think the way people celebrate Christmas is their own business. I don't have a nativity scene in my house - I have a Christmas tree, and that's about it. I never go to church, not even on Christmas, because why should an ordinary man who happens to be called Jesus be entitled to seeing me sitting in a freezing cold church at midnight on Christmas Eve (when I could be sitting in front of the fire, or more likely fast asleep in bed) just because its his 'birthday'?? No thanks.
RazorSHarp
pictures of santa, snowmen and reindeers rather than stables, virgins and stars of bethlehem Just a quick thought....why are virgins always shown naked and surrounded by semi clad males in early paintings? Heyesey
my point was that in my eyes and many other peoples it WAS always about the nativity and the religion side of it. You've never given out presents? You've never had a christmas tree? You've never decorated the house? You've never had a big feast-like meal? If you did any of those things, you were celebrating Saturnalia, not Christmas.
pink fairy
Baa blomming hum bug. I am not a fan of christmas i think it should be baned it a money making scam. I have seen so many people get into debt at christmas and for what. I remeber my grandnma saying they had a orange and small things. I also had small gift but now it a competion about who can buy biggest, bestest presents. Christmas has lost the plot  Also if we are going all 'pc' and trying not to upset people belifs then the word christmas will have to be baned as well as it refering to christ. I dont want to bible bash but its tempting:)
