savbaby
Has anybody seen the Taxi marshalls in town on Fri/ Sat night what do they do and is it worth it? We have had them in Glasgow for a couple of years now, they keep the queue moving and ensure that the taxis are legit. also if you are single female they give you priority which is good in some cases. Do they give preference to male cross dressers? I know the adam's apple is a give away !
Andy C
The queue at the taxi rank would move quickly if there were ever actually any damn taxis to get in....
LibertyBell
Has anybody seen the Taxi marshalls in town on Fri/ Sat night what do they do and is it worth it? Taxi queues are the traditional place where british males gather weekly to show each other and everyone else just how big a prat they are by capering about obstreperously and generally acting like 3 year olds. The marshall is a surrogate parent to keep them in order and stop them spoiling other people's evenings.
Darbees
I've seen them at airports in other countries. They write the taxi and drivers details on a card and give you it so that they can't rip you off because you are new there and might not know what you're doing. *_ash_*
The queue at the taxi rank would move quickly if there were ever actually any damn taxis to get in.... The council sent all taxi drivers a letter, asking for them to drive to the taxi marshall points rather than picking up on the surrounding roads. Its only a pilot scheme to see if it increases safety for customers and drivers, and clears town quicker. Its also better for the driver, as he doesnt have to deal with the usual fight by 2 groups of who was first (one of the reasons, queuing at taxi ranks like Fitzalan Square is virtually pointless.) ash
