evildrneil
or steam it, have it raw as part of a salad, sweat it in olive oil with onions and bake it in a pie, us the leaves to wrap a filling and bake, slice and stif fry with a bit of chilli and ginger - you can do pretty much anything with it! JoeP
Main thing, don't cook it for too long. The way I normally do it is to get some water boiling with a pinch of salt and a knob of butter in it, shred the cabbage, 2 minutes, then drain it. The cabbage will be crisp and it's great! the main thing to remember is that if you cook it too long it will look like silage.
kittencapes
Ok I have never cooked it before you see and mum makes lovely cabbage so thought I would give it a go much to the disgust of my housemates...
Bago
I've only ever used it in salads. Cut really thin strips, throw in some shredded chicken, a light dressing, vio-la. Bit cold for salads though.

nick2
Braise it with apples or cranberries (reb cabbage works best) or stir fry it.
Banjo Griner
Don't boil it - just sweat it off for about ten minutes with a big knob of butter. When it's nearly soft, add a couple of pinches of ground cinnamon and salt and pepper.
Fantomas
Don't boil it - just sweat it off for about ten minutes with a big knob of butter. When it's nearly soft, add a couple of pinches of ground cinnamon and salt and pepper. or stick a few lardons of bacon in with it while it's sweating, and at the end put in some creme fraiche or cream, and lots of pepper - heavenly!
