Homeslice
Does anybody actually enjoy going in there to drink, or do you just go after the pub because it serves till 3 am?. Went on friday an the place is an absolute shambles. No atmosphere, shoddy lighting, and full of ten-bob millionaires.
Bolero
Before pubs had a later license it used to be quite good, mainly in my eyes because I'd bump into loads of people I either knew from school or used to knock about with. It's always had shoddy lighting and is full of ten-bob millionaires but being where it is, it's convenient for a late drink without having to go into town. It has gone downhill though I agree. lalaland
We go in some Friday nights after a night on the town, it's close enough to home to walk regardless of the weather and we normally see people that we know in there. The place itself is pretty dull and there's nothing very interesting in there. They tried introducing table service upstairs which wasn't bad, but the free peanuts were stale and horrible I never gamble, so the casino part isn't much use to me, but a few of my mates do and they seem to enjoy it. You don't seem to get too much trouble in there (although it was funny watching some rough bird chuck her drink over some poor guy in there the other week ) and it's easy to hear each other when everyone's chatting around the table, so for winding down after a good night out it's not too bad. The one thing that can be annoying are the 'bar fly' type people that hover around the bar, some leaning on it, despite having full drinks and stopping you getting to it to get served. Most of them don't hear / ignore your 'excuse me' request to try and get there and if you accidently knock them they look at you like you just stamped on their mother. Seems simple to me, get your drink, move away from the bar and let others in Not seen to many '10 bob millionaires' in there, you get the odd poser but it's quite amusing seeing the bronzed wrinkled grannies with floating around some guy with a bottle of champagne occasionally. It's nothing special, but as a stop off point on the way home it's not that bad if you don't do it every week.

bendus2
I find it convenient to get a drink after closing and have never seen any trouble in there.

DaBouncer
I go to Naps quite regularly and think the atmosphere in the place is fine. It's not like the wine bars in town nor is it a music venue. It's a bar of the casino (it's primary business). As a casino it functions well and the bar is an extension of it's business. I like the place and the clientel and a ten bob millionnaire I'm certainly not (wish I had ten bob to start with ). If you don't like it... don't go. Simple really. mr.blaze
It's not really somewhere you go to drink is it? It's a Casino...
