northernboy
Here's something that is puzzling me - when I use Windows explorer to look at the "date modified" field of the MP3 files on my pc, the dates keep changing even when the files have not been modified. For example, several files that I ripped months ago are showing that they were modified today - this seems to happen every day I use the pc, regardless of whether or not I even accesses or played the files on that day. Anyone have any idea why it's doing this? Thanks.
Ghozer
some (dont know which) mp3 players modify the mp3's ID3 tag when they play them, (they read the tag/file name, compare and update the id3tag automatically) but since you say it happens even though you havent played the file, it could maybe be a virus scanner, checking the file(s)? or defrag or something? northernboy
Thanks Ghozer, maybe it is a virus scanner that's doing it.
GazB
Windows Media Player searches for new/updated media information from the internet. This could be why they keep changing.
