surfinjim
Its only open on a Sunday, but the fire and police museum in Sheffield centre is well worth a visit IMO. Castleton is great at this time of year, with the Christmas lights through the village. Plenty of nice pubs to eat at as well. Bago
What ? Are you sure Castleton is that far away ? I thought it's relatively close to Sheffield in the Peak District. Poole's Cavern is really worth seeing. It's pretty special, I think. I was going to suggest something similar. I've forgotten the name of it, but it's one of the biggest cave in the Yorkshire Dales area. You can only visit it when the local caving club goes down there.
