upinwath
Hi, i am seriously asking other women what its like being a stripper. Whats the money like etc I know a girl who has worked as a pole dancer and lap dancer. She may have done some stripping as well. I'll ask her if you like. I would imagine it's hard work at first taking your clothes off in front of a gang of drunken guys. Good luck in whatever you do.
ValleyBoy
You may as well go the whole way ,same stigma attached to it and do it in a diffrent town.
kittencapes
A friend of mine works in a strip club, believe me the money is not that great! She has to pay the house some money each night and then most of the money is made through private dances which again don't pay that well and you have to do a lot of them! I would not recommend it personally
Stargazer8
I used to work behind the bar in a well known lap dancing bar. Firstly, the girls only really made any decent money at weekends and then it was the ones who were really pushy and good at their jobs. It takes A LOT of confidence to push someone into taking you for a private dance. These girls had no qualms and would do anything to get money i.e. back stabbing other girls or providing 'little extras' inside the booth like letting the men touch them. Whilst I was there I was exposed to prostitution, drugs and other crime. I used to see intelligent young women come in to earn a bit of extra cash and a few months down the line they would have dropped out of uni and were nailing a £100 a day coke habit. Trust me, it IS a slippery slope down. Whilst I worked there I became obsessed with my body and ended up losing two stone in weight because I felt so unattractive, compared to the other girls who were getting a lot of attention (but because that was their job to look beautiful and fawn all over the men). It had a severe affect on how I viewed men, other women and my own body. I SERIOUSLY would not recommend it. Can you drive? If so have you considered promotional work? It's well paid but not that regular unless you get involved in a long campaign. Try joining http://www.stuckforstaff.com. They will get you some work but more importantly they give a list of all the promotional agencies in the country. You have to pay £10 to join but it is worth it. The average daily rate is £80 which is more than you would probably earn as a lap dancer. The key to earning money in promotions is to hound them for work. Ring every company you are registered with once a week and ask them for work. It works.
