International phone cards

Recommended Posts

I normally get mine from a chinese supermarket. Somewhere like Tai Sun on Matilda Street have a good selection. There's little adverts on their windows of different cards, and their rates. If all else fails, you can ask the cashier which card they think makes cheaper call to Europe or to Asia. Also, ask them about how much they are. Sometimes the 20 pound cards have extra 5 pound call charges free, and they also charge you a discounted rate for paying in cash too. So it works out something like 17.50 for a 20+5 pound card. I don't think there is a heavy discount on the 5 or 10 pound cards, but it doesn't hurt to ask !

I think you can get a few cards from the papers stand in the Interchange, and also the paper shop behind Showroom. I don't think they sell the 20 pound cards though.

I don't know whether Budgens have them, but there's also another grocery store on West St which sells them. Basically, anywhere where they sell food to oversea students will definitely have a few.

[Added] Forgot to add. There's a time limit as to how long you can use your credits. Most cards have a 90 days period until it expires.
