Brighthouse shops - greedier than most?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone else believe that these shops prey on the sheer greed and/or stupidity of 'poorer' folks by enticing them to buy expensive white goods and home furniture, then charging them up to 29% interest?

I worked for them two years ago for a month, during the heatwave, and their 'training' involved the US-style BS and most amazing justification-of-avarice--motto ever:-

(paraphrasing from memory) "Our customers have the right to possess everyday goods thus improving their lifestyle and...blah blah..."

Blatant grasping on both parts, indicative of today or what?

My friend used to work for this company, they used to run the shops in Birmingham called "Crazy Georges". They charge extrotionate interest and demand guarantors. If you are 2 days late for payment they send the heavies in who are large beefy blokes who turn up at your house and then your guarantor.

Very horrible company. She left as she couldn't cope with the stress and upset of the people who came in having had their other goods taken in lieu of payment.
