tobydog   10 #26 Posted November 8, 2006 Hi - I think the french teacher you described is probably Miss Jessica Baston - did she hold her stomach and screw up her face when you were pronouncing french? If so, that's definitely her!
 Share this content via...

victormh   10 #35 Posted June 24, 2011 I was at Woodhouse Grammar School Sept 1951 to Jul 1958 and was from Swallownest. Knew a lot of people from Brinsworth, Catcliffe and Treeton at the time, some i am still in weekly e mail contact with. Re the Horners, you are right they were a kind of missionary. I knew them for many years, they had a daughter by the name of Joan, who also went to WGS and was in my year. They lived on West Park Drive, Swallownest, just over the top of Park Hill, there is a right hand turn into West Park Drive. In the 1950's and earlier Mr horner was an RAF Padre, Mrs Horner was a shcool teacher, but i do not remember which school. I do not remember her teaching at Swallownest School before i left in Sept 1951. All I can currently remember from that far back - Best Regards - Grey Eminence - Subang Jaya - Malaysia
 Share this content via...
