Is being a good citizen the same as being British?

 

Yeah alright I will admit that I am working towards an assignment with this thread but I chose this assignment as it interests me and I am really looking forward to reading what people have to post...

Maybe Mahatma Gandhi was a good citizen, in that he sought to help others. But I don't think the British governers of India saw him that way.

Maybe the question needs more definition; e.g. a good citizen of ..where? UK, Australia, France, Sierra Leone.......etc.

Because being British is sure not going to make you a good citizen of Japan!

As has been pointed out, it's a poorly phrased premise.

 

But assuming we're talking citizen of Britain, not at all.

 

Harold Shipman was British but hardly a good citizen. fred West - British but a bad 'un.

 

There is no correlation.
