Johnh
I have, it hasn't kicked in yet until the three year warranty expires. I'm not entirely sure it was a good idea, not for £250 anyway? Why do you ask?

Cranberry
I wouldn't bother buying a warranty - set the money aside for repairs you would have spent on a warranty. I had one and so much is excluded that it isn't worth it. About the only thing that is covered is if a mechanical part becomes faulty but not through wear and tear which is what most repairs are for if you think about it. abbie
I agree , i was with warranty dirct and my car was losing power they sent me to nationwide autocentre and you have to pay them first i paid £133 for new spark plugs and all i got back was £43 from warranty and that was on gold ,also you have to have your car serviced regularly and that's about £100 or more. cleanfix
Waste of time I would say.We went for a platinum warranty and gap insurance cost £700, everytime we tried to claim we were told "thats a wearable part and not covered" despite the salesman telling us it covered everything, reallly wish we hadn't bothered now, my advice would be there not worth bothering with. Yellowrose
I took out one, but due to an oversight (I got divorced and moved house so was somewhat distracted) I didnt get my car serviced on time. Because it wasnt serviced on time the extended warranty was useless so watch out for this.
4Colour
I wondered if the OP had a BMW when I saw the thread. Why ? I have an M and the extended warranty has gone from 510 -> 720 -> 1050 in the last 3 years, Not only am I paying 1050 pounds I now have to pay 250 for each claim on top. Yeah its a bargain, honest. I looked at WD and they limit each claim to 5 grand - bearing in mind Sytners charge 90 plus an hour and I don't know of any well respected Indies in Sheffield you are a little limited. Yours A poor BMW driver.
