xircon
Try the obvious - uninstall from add / remove programs and reinstall. Check if any other BHO objects have installed that are interfering (use hijack this if not confident post log here.) Get better browser that is not necessarily Firefox:hihi:

esme
the little vertical bar just to the left of "google" should have four dots to the right of it, this means it's an independent toolbar and not connected to the others on the same line, you can drag and drop it using the mouse by clicking on this bar and dot thing if you click and hold the bar and dot gizmo then move the mouse slowly down the toolbar will move to the line below then let go and it will stay there alternately you can remove and reinstall it as you did
Avalon
I seem to recall ages ago there being some random issue with IE not keeping the toolbars where you put them. If you have an issue with a microsoft product, try searching the Microsoft TechNet!
xircon
Sorry I like firefox, but there are others out there, there is a huge thread ongoing about the virtues of browsers, I have been using Mozilla based browsers since Netscape. The only advantage of IE is the huge (but ever shrinking) userbase!!

Ann*
Every now and again my Google toolbar moves like that, and all that needs to be done, if it happens in the future, is: Click on View (or right click on a toolbar row), hover over Toolbars, which will open another drop-down menu; at the bottom if "Lock Toolbars" is tick, click on it to unlock toolbars. Then there should be a vertical row of dots next to "Google": click and hold on those dots, and then drag the Google toolbar down to where you want it to be. Afterwards, click "Lock Toolbars" to replace the tick, and voila, everything should be back where you want it. There was no need to uninstall and reinstall the toolbar. John
You can prevent this from happening by right clicking on the grey area of the toolbar area and from the menu, select lock the toolbars. You will not have any further problems.
