Horse buses before we were in a hurry

Thanks for your interest folks , the driver holding the reins on the top photo is my father , the driver on the other is my G father , cheers Arthur. ps the locations are correct.
I used to live just down the road from the Sportsman on Barnsly Road in the 60's I recognised it right away..The Pub manager was a mate of mine called "Henry Flathers" from Ecclesfield.

I'd wager it takes longer to get into town now from the Sportsman or Hunters Bar on a bus than it did in the days of the horse bus :hihi:

Welcome to armish country all work and transportation is still done 100% BY HORSE, such a change to see all the school kids ride up and park your horse in the lean-to alongside the school ,or in many small towns huge open air stables for the shopers, market- day its packed.
