pattricia   575 #13 Posted November 2, 2006 I think it went down in the late 80s... Im not 100% sure on that though, I didnt live far form there but I rarely ventured into that area.   Its not very often they just pull a pub down like that. I heard it was a drugs place, is that true.? Is the old Southey Green Working Mens club still across the road.? Maybe someone from Southey will know. Jabberwocky   46 #22 Posted November 3, 2006 I remember in the early 80s a bikers funeral starting off from the magnet. A work mate of mine went to it and all the bikes went along moonshine lane where i worked. Beautiful.
 Share this content via...
nanrobbo   12 #23 Posted November 3, 2006 I remember around about 1947 or so I fetched a Jug of beer nightly for an old chap across the road (Morgan). I used to run up Galsworthy Rd get the jug filled from the Magnet beer-off and then race down so the beer didn't go flat. If the beer was flat he didn't give me the halfpenny for fetching it. I was ten at the time and wonder however did I get served?
 Share this content via...
