feargal
You need to know what the normal hours are before they've been pro-rata'd. So, for example, if the normal working week at your company is 35 hours, then they pro rata your 30 hours from that.
BasilRathbon
You took the job without knowing how much you were going to be paid?
SupraSteve
Andy, I'm sorry but your post makes no sense. Are you saying that a job is advertised at £291.17/week [for a stated number of hours worked] but you're only going to be doing 30 hours a week? If this is the case, then divide the £291.17 by the number of hours that pay relates to (typically 37, so I'll use that as an example) and then multiply it by the 30 hours that you'll be working. e.g. £291.17 / 37 = £7.87 an hour. => £7.87 x 30 hours = £236.08 a week (pro rata). If it is based on 42 hours the calculation would be as follows; £291.17 / 42 = £6.93 an hour. => £7.87 x 30 hours = £207.98 a week (pro rata). Just substitue the number in bold for whatever the real number is and you're away.
